MPC is not linked or sponsored in any way, therefore, the following items have been used regularly and that come recommended by us as a potential option for purchase (not through us though, because we do not sell stuff).
We say a 'potential' option because everything of course is down to your own personal opinion and what works for you, we are all different (thankfully).
Hydration Vest
Salomon ADV Skin 5
Very comfortable, very lightweight, lots of pockets, fits a large phone, holds two bottles or a bladder. Different colours available.
Waterproof Jacket
Ronhill Shakedry Gore-Tex
Very comfortable, definitely keeps you dry, just shake afterwards and pack away. Not a sweat bag!
Running Shoes
Brooks Adrenaline
Each to their own but now in our third year of using these, have consistently proven themselves.
Running Gaiters
No name brand
Cheap and cheerful. Weary of gaiters with straps underneath, these have a little strip of self-adhesive velcro to attach to heel. They stay in place and keep out all those little bits of grit that feel like boulders. Even successfully used on beach runs.
Headphones
AfterShokz (now Shokz)
Lightweight, comfortable, bluetooth bone conduction headphones. Very good sound considering you can still hear everything around you.
Not for music connoisseurs but for those who wish to stay safe.
Hi-Viz
Lumefit Reflective Vest
Surprising how much reflective light is given from the front and rear panels. The green light adds very good visibility also.
Lightweight and a reasonable cost for something that can save a lot of pain.
Fuel
Tailwind
Used for several years and is the most consistent source of fuel for runners. Add to your drinking water and as you gently sip you are constantly refuelling.
Not had any highs and subsequent lows, no dodgy gut. Many flavours available.
Drink
Recovery Smoothie
Very nice and beneficial after a long run.
Blend together 125ml milk or yoghurt, 125ml water, 125g frozen cherries, a sliced banana and 2 teaspoons of honey.
